Word Add-in Help
Everything you need to install, run, and troubleshoot the Ezylex Add-in for Microsoft Word.
Installing the Add-in
- Open Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365, Word 2016 or later, or Word on the web).
- Go to the Insert tab and select Get Add-ins (or Add-ins → More Add-ins).
- Search for “Ezylex” in the Office Store, or use the link provided by your administrator.
- Click Add and accept the permission prompt to enable the Ezylex add-in.
- The Ezylex panel opens on the right. Sign in with your Ezylex CLM account to begin.
System Requirements
- Microsoft Word 2016 or later on Windows or macOS, or Word on the web.
- An active Microsoft 365 account with add-ins enabled by your organization.
- A modern browser (Word on the web) — latest Edge, Chrome, Safari or Firefox.
- An active internet connection to reach Ezylex CLM services.
- A valid Ezylex CLM account (sign up or request a demo from our team).
Troubleshooting
- Add-in not visible: reopen Word, or reload it from Insert → My Add-ins.
- Blank or stuck panel: clear the Office cache and reload the document.
- Sign-in issues: confirm your credentials and that your account is active.
- Admin-blocked add-in: ask your Microsoft 365 admin to approve Ezylex.
- Still stuck? Email ashish@ezylex.ai with a screenshot and your Word version.

How do I install the Ezylex Microsoft Word Add-in?
In Word, open the Insert tab, choose Get Add-ins, search for “Ezylex” in the Office Store (or use the link from your administrator), and click Add. Once installed, open the Ezylex panel from the Insert or Home tab and sign in with your Ezylex CLM account.
What permissions does the Word Add-in require?
The add-in reads and edits the content of the document you are actively working in so it can analyze clauses, insert suggestions, and sync contract data. It does not access other documents or files on your device. All data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.
Is my contract data secure?
Yes. We use enterprise-grade encryption for data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. Your contract data is processed solely to provide the Ezylex service and is never sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I remove or disable the Add-in?
In Word, go to Insert → My Add-ins (or Add-ins), right-click the Ezylex add-in and choose Remove. On Word for the web, open My Add-ins, select Ezylex, and choose Remove. You can reinstall it at any time from the Office Store.
What file formats does Ezylex support?
Ezylex supports all major document formats including DOCX, PDF, DOC, and RTF. The Word Add-in lets you work directly on DOCX documents inside Microsoft Word.
How does the AI-powered contract review work?
Our AI analyzes your contracts to identify key clauses, potential risks, and deviations from your standard templates. It provides suggestions and highlights areas that may need attention, saving hours of manual review — all without leaving Word.
